Mike retired as VP Global Commercial at Thermo Fisher Scientific Chemical Analysis Division which entailed a $900M portfolio serving a broad range of markets including, life sciences, environmental monitoring, process monitoring, food safety, mining, homeland security and metals production. He served the company for 31 years through progressive roles that also include international marketing, and sales operations.
Marketing excellence is where Mike enjoys most of his time and focus. He has direct experience implementing phase-gated processes for product development and new product introduction processes that are structured, strategic, systematic, and scalable.
Mike has extensive knowledge in building a broad range of go-to-market strategies from the ground up that lead to commercial excellence. He excels in establishing 3rd party channel partner and OEM agreements. This includes commercial structures entailing direct sales representative, Manufacturing Representatives, Value-added resellers and Distributors.
His ability to listen and understand the client's mindset allows him to interact and relate at all levels of an organization ranging from instrument technicians to CEOs. He brings deep understanding of the market that covers environmental monitoring, process monitoring, and safety and security.
One of his main strengths is in the capture of the "voice of the customer (VOC)" to build business cases that are compelling and that lead to product innovation.
He builds campaigns to drive lead generation and demand generation and designs strategies supported by metrics, sales quotas and discount structures to hold commercial teams accountable.
Mike provides guidance with product-life-cycle management and helps identify efficiencies and reach increased focus through the development of product rationalization strategies.
Additionally, Mike has extensive M&A experience and can provide guidance throughout the entire process from target identification through post acquisition business integration.
